Your female secret weapon: Well, since it is secret, I will not reveal it! :)
Woman who inspires you: My Mother, my portrait sitters, Michelle Obama, K. D. Lang, Kira Perov. It's really difficult to name only a few.
Your talisman or power-ritual: For talismans I have two rings that I got as a gift some years ago at the Tatra mountains. For a ritual I do inner body meditation, visualization of glowing blue clear orb (sphere) deriving from your heart and reaching others.
Looking at the world through the lens of female artist with social nerve, how would you describe/paint/express the situation of women on those days?
Equality is still not there, and in the arts too. Women artists have never been treated equally in the art world, and today they remain dramatically underrepresented and undervalued. Woman artists are less exhibited, get lower salaries for their work. But this issues makes us stronger and encourages to fight for our beliefs and to make our dreams come into the life.
How to find courage to be authentic and fully oneself at the times when world prescribes social norms, acceptable looks and behaviors?
This is not that easy. But things get easier when you get older and wiser. Less and less you try to fit in a perfect image that the society imposes on you. On the other hand everything happens naturally if you follow your heart and do things that you want to do. But you need to find the time to understand and learn who you truly are. In one of the Greek temples these words were inscribed: ‘Know thyself’.
Where to find self-worth and self-acceptance as a woman?
Only in your heart. If it is not there no other people or important achievements will give it to you.
What does a wild and free woman do in her life?
She creates beautiful and meaningful things that her soul desires to come into the life.
What inspires you?
Love. This is the greatest gift of life. As said in a quote by Rumi: ‘A perfect falcon, for no reason, have landed on your shoulder, and become yours.‘ Other inspirations are nature, poetry, music, Bill Viola art.
What your personal wisdom of life would benefit other women?
I have noticed that what is meant for you will happen sooner or later. I believe that we need to be patient and wish for it with an open heart. Whatever you are seeking, is also seeking you.
What do you think of the International Woman’s day?
This day is very important, because on this day we also remember the acquisition of the Women's Right of Vote. After so many years there is still a long way to go on women's rights. At this day it's important to honor women’s rights and all the achievements across all spheres. Most important thing is that every woman helps each other when we have that opportunity, no matter our age, status or the outside looks. We all are seeking for the same important things in this world. Collectively, we can make a change and leave a better world for our younger sisters.
What does jewelry mean to you?
I love simple and elegant jewelry, bigger, transparent stones. For me shining stones symbolize an inner light and at the same time have protective qualities. You will not find me at the exhibition opening without a pendant that I like! My favorite is the one with green amethyst. It is from WildWoman collection and has this gorgeous subtle color.
Do you have a story with jewelry?
Many of the jewelry pieces that I wear are gifts from my dear friends from all over the world that are important in my life. Because of that, jewelry is very precious to me, and reminds me of them.
