- Ametrine is found only in the Amahi mine in Bolivia. It became famous in the 17th century after a Spanish conquistador married a princess named Anahi; the mine was her dowry. Ametrine reached Europe when the conquistador gifted the mine to the Spanish queen.
Care and maintenance
Lukewarm soapy water is the best for cleaning this stone, but it doesn’t tolerate long periods in bright sunlight. Household chemicals and perfumes are not a friend of any crystal.
