Cat’s-eye is not a stone but an effect that can occur in different stones. It appears as a narrow reflective band extending across the stone - sort of like how a cat’s eyes narrow to a slit in bright light. The stones in which the effect is most common is chrysoberyl, tiger’s eye, apatite, and is seen more infrequently in crystals such as rose quartz, moonstone, and ruby.
